A full explanation of #reviewbombgate, a major scandal that broke on Booktwt this week.
Please support the books and authors impacted the most:
Kamilah Cole - So Let Them Burn
Bethany Baptiste - The Poisons We Drink
Molly X Chang - To Gaze Upon Wicked Gods
Frances White - Voyage of the Damned
KM Enright - Mistress of Lies
RM Virtues - the Gods of Hunger series
(PS. I know people love to jump to “YA authors are always acting up” and assume any author with a femme-sounding name writes YA so lemme say right now that this author writes adult sci-fi.)
Holy fuck

Another Update:
Cait confessed to everything.
They are pleading insanity, literally, and blaming it all on The Drugs. The timeline in the statement also does not match the evidence of this starting way back in April.
Sometimes a guy in a fanfiction has the ability to read someone’s gaze with the same level of detail a wine taster can taste the wine
“He glared at him with anger in his eyes, but behind that longing and sorrow over things left unsaid, a subtle but desperate yearning for things to be different, and with just a hint of roasted nuts right at the end.”
shoutout to Hunter’s Moon by @riverstories7 for being probably the only fic that doesn’t depict Cato as an absolute brute. I get the appeal, really. but it’s also very cool to explore the concept of him being able to manipulate the public and do well at politicking because of his academy training. also, i loved to see how much he influenced katniss’ worldviews and ideology instead of the opposite.
This is really kind. There are a number of wonderfully nuanced depictions of Cato out there. But I am very fond of my version. <3
This story is great! Rec! Rec! Rec!
Spotted the word “blorbo” in The New York Times book review. Listen NYT romance reviewer, I really do not think your paper’s audience is going to recognize that one
